Anshuman Gaekwad was a batsman of incredible courage and temperament. His 201 against Pakistan came in 671 minutes and is considered the slowest double century in first class cricket. Anshuman Gaekwad gave a proof of his courage when he stood bravely against the line of fire from the West Indian bowlers in 1975-76 test match, also known as the Jamaica bloodbath. Anshuman Gaekwad made a fighting 81 and apart from many bruises, had his ear drums punctured by Michael Holding's bouncer.
