Cameron White made history when he became captain of Victoria at age 20, as the youngest ever in the state's long history. He had previously led the Australian Under-19 team to World Cup victory in 2002. He was selected in the national squad for the 2004 Zimbabwe tour but was unlucky as the series got cancelled. He had to wait for some more years to represent Australia and finally got an opportunity when he was picked for the Johnnie Walker Super Series to be played against the ICC World XI. However, he did not get to bat or bowl in the series. He made a proper debut only in December 2005 while playing against New Zealand in the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy.
As a hard hitting lower middle order batsman who is capable of some good spin bowling, Cameron White is seen as a future Australian Test player who can blossom into a handy all rounder for Australia.
